I had the game data checked, 2 files were requested again. No matter which of the two versions I choose, right after choosing the game, the small window with the logos appears and then black screen. I'm so surprised and glad at how active and helpful this community is. Blackscreen at the start Sorry, I cant start the game. I have the Origen version, and would like to try out the Mental Omega mod after I fix this issue. To foiks who play the game in Win 10, can you guys alt-tab? Did you accept that you have to save the game each time you want to alt-tab, force close the game, re-open the game and load back in later? I would happily play the game in windowed if I don't get fucked whenever I want to do other things on the computer during a play session, but putting "-win" in the origen game settings does not work. Now I reinstalled the official game for the 4th time and I have ran out of solutions to try lol. I reinstalled the game in between certain attempts in case I accidentally made conflicting configuration settings. They either do nothing or make it even worse (full blackscreen without even alt-tabbing). So, I decided that I'll play the game in windowed mode and youtubed 6~7 videos on editing ini files or extracting different dll/aqrit files etc. I understand that it is due to resolution differences between a 20 yo game vs a modern operating system. Without any modification of game files, the only nuisance (albeit a big one), is alt-tabbing freezes and turns the screen black for 5 seconds, after that the game can no longer be alt-tabbed back into.
It seems I have exhausted every method out there. Hey guys, been struggling with this issue for months, would really appreciate a miraculous solution.
